San Biagio Vecchio Cacciabruco Ravenna Bianco Orange Wine .750L Italy
La Cantina is located on the splendid Romagna hillside of San Biagio Vecchio a stone's throw from Faenza. 6 hectares of land that overlook the medieval tower of Oriolo dei Fichi and the plain to the Adriatic sea: only native vines ( Albana, Sangiovese and Centesimino ) and an ancient local variety of soft wheat, the Gentil Rosso .
I, Andrea, took over the management of the farm to Don Antonio Baldassari, parish priest of San Biagio and passionate winemaker. It was my uncle Giorgio , a winemaker in Faenza, who pointed out to me that perhaps, in the hills of Oriolo, there was an opportunity for me .
When I crossed the threshold of the cellar for the first time, on a foggy day in the fall of 2004 , I felt the same scent as my grandfather's. Good luck!
It seemed that Don Antonio, guardian of the history of each vineyard in these hills, was waiting for me. My inexperience did not seem to be a problem, and I soon learned a good part of what I know today about wine and vines thanks to the help in the vineyard of Mario, an old local farmer, and my uncle Giorgio.
I work all year round among the vines supported by my wife Lucia and my father Gennaro , and the period of the harvest is always a pleasant opportunity to meet all of our great family in which everyone offers his precious contribution!
