This wine begins with brambly black fruit aromas—cassis, blackberry, with smoke, espresso beans, cocoa, smoke and clove. The palate is similar, with lots of very ripe, very black fruit (currant, blackberry, mulberry), vanilla, medium-plus acidity and firm tannins.

Garnacha Tintorera is also known as Alicante Bouschet.  The grape is a cross between Grenache and Petit Bouschet. The D.O. Almansa, where Bodegas Niel is located, is the highest producer of Garnacha Tintorera worldwide, which is indigenous to this region.
