Grapesmith & Crusher Chardonnay .750L Columbia Valley Washington

G & C makes good old everyday American wine on both sides of Oregon/Washington border using classic French grapes. Sustainable fruit for this Columbia Valley Cab comes from the famous Wahluke Slope (75%) which is fermented in neutral barrels through malo, and Snipes Mountain (25%) which goes into all new oak through malo. Aging for both parts of the blend lasts 13 months on the lees for the best expression of land, fruit, and wood. A nice big Cab offering plenty of value for the price.

Flavor Profile: Full-bodied, dry. Black fruit and wood notes on the nose followed by black currant, blackberry, and sandalwood on the palate. Finishes with balanced tannin, acidity, and mocha notes. Pair with steaks, chops, and burgers.

Don’t you miss the clickety clack of vintage typewriters? The click of the iPhone’s touch screen keyboard certainly doesn’t have the same romantic charm. Not everything was better back then; surely few people miss using whiteout, but occasionally there is a yearning for how things used to be. When times were simpler, perhaps all it took was sharing a glass of wine with a friend at the end of the day to make everything feel alright. In fact, Communal fully supports the idea that even in today’s chaotic world, the simplicity of a bottle of wine can still has the power to make everything OK. A Communal wine that ticks all the critical boxes- Good fruit. Good price. Memorable label image. Tastes like Washington State Wine.
