Tasting notes

Star aniseed contributes the primary flavor definitive of real absinthes and is complemented by delicate aromas of herbs including sage, fennel and coriander. Grand Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) provides the essential bitter note to balance the sweetness and is the source of thujone, the component in real Absinthes that was the cause of the ban in the early 1900's. Mata Hari is perfect for mixing in creative cocktails as well as classics like the Sazerac.
